It all begins with Martin, a teacher, accused of being gay. The rumor spreads and also hits his friends Kjærsti and Sara, who live together. The three are deviants in people's eyes, and threaten the image of reality. In the municipal administration, two corrupt officials use the rumor to hide their own dishonesty.
